Vornagust sat with a blank stare on his face looking at the wall. I outstretched by hand and said “Give me the sword”.
Vornagust snapped out of his trance. “This sword wants justice and I will not hand it to you.”
I was satisfied with his response but before I can reply we heard that booming voice.
Strahd had arrived and he was disappointed in us and accused of desecrating his family home.
Then a puddle of blood oozed out of the wall and headed straight for my party. I fired an arrow in the air intent on letting the creature know it would not go no further. Through sheer force of will I intimated the puddle of blood as it retreated to the corner in fear.
The creatures flowed in trying to surround us. I moved in position to survey the room and protect both Irena and Ezemeralda. We had a fight on our hand. The battlefield was hectic as I tried to monitor all the hostiles on the board. I notice Strahd was doing the same with his forces. Thought I must end Strahd, I have to admit his battlefield prowess is nothing short of legendary.
I would take a couple of sniping shots at Strahd in hopes of wreaking his defense. Strahd battle both Ander, Kriegos, and Frost and they tried to unleash both magical and divine spells against him.
While I consider myself a great battlemaster even I was taken aback that Ezermeralda joined the fight wielding the arcane arts. Having another piece on the board seemed to turn the tide of the battle. But adding pieces can be a double edge sword as Strahd add a piece of his own. Another arcane spell caster that tossed magics on the battlefield.
I could hear Strahd yelling at his new piece and he phased in and out of combat going in between the very walls. This is it. I feel it in my bones, the hunt and final confrontation with Strahd is at hand. I shall avenge all those that this monster has struck down. Or die trying.
