No sooner than Baba fell before the might of our party did her henchmen muster up courage to attack.
I have said it many times, I hate this place and want to leave here. These creatures moved with such swiftness and their hide seem to allow them to shrug off my arrows. Their bodies were a dark red and they had wings though they did not fly. I could see that hatred and contempt they had for us in their eyes.
Within what seem like a blink of an eye I was surrounded by three of them. I consider myself one of the greatest archers, I wanted them to see that I was equally adapted in swordsmanship. It took sheer will and fortitude to survive the onslaught of their attacks. I pulled everything from within in order to maintain standing. I could not assist my allies as I was surrounded by the red devils. I fell in battle. When I came to I was still in great pain but could see the battle raged on. I quickly rejoined the battle.
I heard the voice again from the accursed spear. It cried out that it wanted the blood of my enemies. May the gods be merciful to me as I had no choice but to embrace its blood thirst. I withdrew it and struck a devil down killing it. I could feel its life force leaving and flowing into me, healing my wounds and pain. I needed a victory but I pray that I do not sacrifice my soul in order to achieve it.
Our party rallied and routed the red devils. We all were wounded from the encounter and decided to rest before moving on. This land had other plans, nature itself hindered our rest as mosquitoes pestered us and would even fly near our camp fire. They seemed determine to hinder our rest and unnaturally unafraid of our fire. We decided it would be best to seek shelter in the hut. Baba’s Hut seem devoid of life and nuisance.
We debated on whether to enter the hut or not, and decided against it. However curiosity got the better of our priest and he entered the hut. I could not let Frost go in alone so I followed. I whispered to Frost “What are you doing?” he seemed distracted or in some type of trance.
I could see the gem in the floor board. Could it really be that easy? It had to be some type of trap but I could not grasp the extent of the trap.
Caine the swift attempted to snatch the gem from the floor board and barely avoided the hut eating his hand.
The Hut came to life and branches flew in attacking us. Both Frost and Vornagust fell from those initial attacks.
Let me say it once more time to ensure my words and thoughts are clear, I hate this place.
I grabbed Frost and jumped out of the hut. The others grabbed Vornagust and pulled him out of the hut. We were in no condition to fight this hut.
