The Fate of Fort Rannick (H-90)

The party depart the capital city of Dagin and are granted permission to enter the King’s Forest (just southeast of Dagin) due to Arthion spending his time and efforts trying to balance the landscape for civilization and nature with the Emerald Enclave.

The party decide to travel to a small hamlet called Bitter Hallow, hoping to gather more information about the Order of the Black Arrow stationed at Fort Rannick. The hamlet leader (Father Maelin Shreed) a devout worshipper of Abadar claims that some ogres from Clan Graul have taken residence in a farm nearby and are using it as a base of operation to raid nearby settlements. They also said they haven’t heard anything from Fort Rannick and are usually visited by a Ranger once a week and haven’t heard or seen any of them in about 3 weeks.

The party decide to investigate the Farm along the way to Fort Rannick and were attacked by a roving patrol of deformed half ogres near the outskirts of the farm. Arriving at the farm, the sight is grim. All the animal stock were slaughtered and skeletal remains were discovered apparently eaten by Ogres. Several human body parts were also discovered assumed to be the residents of the farm. Breaching into one of the 3 buildings located on the farm the group ambushed a drunk ogre and his pet brown bear. The conditions of the building was atrocious and looks like the ogres have decided to take permanent residence on the farm. Signs of several Graul ogres is apparent and the party can’t help but think if they remain on the farm grounds after dark it would not be good. Ogres after all are nocturnal creatures.

More to come…
