Evolving RPG

Toward the end of last year (2025), EvolvingRPG was compromised, and I had to take it offline.

I really wanted to bring it back online with all of the old content intact, but after reviewing the damage and the way the old site was built, that just wasn’t practical. In some ways, it felt like trying to patch together something that was already overdue for an upgrade.

So instead of simply restoring the old version, I made the decision to rebuild it—and improve it.

The new EvolvingRPG has been rebuilt from the ground up with a new gaming-focused theme, updated and modified to create more of a magazine-style experience. My goal is to make it easier to browse, easier to discover new content, and overall more enjoyable to use whether you’re here for reviews, news, guides, or opinions.

This rebuild also gave me the opportunity to strengthen the hosting environment behind the scenes.

I took time to harden the server, update to the latest stable software, and put stronger protections in place to deal with the out-of-control bots and spam that plagued the old site. While that work isn’t flashy, it should make the site faster, safer, and more reliable moving forward.

But this relaunch is about more than just a fresh coat of paint.

EvolvingRPG has always been about my love of tabletop role-playing games and the hobby as a whole. Over time, the RPG world continues to evolve—and so will this site.

Going forward, you can expect content centered around:

• Industry thoughts and opinions

Whether you’re a veteran Game Master, a longtime player, or someone just getting started in tabletop gaming, my hope is that EvolvingRPG becomes a place worth visiting.

This is only the beginning of the rebuild.
